Tyler brings in the New Year giving a recap of the podcast’s most downloaded episodes and what is in store for BTW’s podcast this year.  Then begins some commentary regarding two heated Facebook topics blazing up the Northern California cycling scene – Nevada City Classic date and route change and possibly dumping the TT bikes for a Merckx style TT at the Chico Stage Race.  Race results from the first race of 2018, San Bruno Hill Climb along with the new Conti Team rosters where Adrien Costa makes a sighting.  Lastly Tyler gives his Strava year end stats for all to mock.

The group sits down to interview and talk to coach and cyclist Matt Chatlaong.  Matt is a coach with Data Driven Athlete and an accomplished Cat 1 cyclist with Herbalife24 for the past four seasons.  Matt talks to us about coaching the UCLA collegiate team in 2017, his racing experiences and coaching future as he continues with his education at Sacramento State (master’s program).  Matt is taking on a regimen of winter weight lifting and seeing great results so far and he informs us why a Master’s rider should be using weights.  We also find out about Matt’s new team for 2018 and what is in store for the team and himself.

Matt defends himself against Curt’s aggressive social media investigation into Matt’s life and the question is posed - whatever did happen to those kittens?
